Since December, I've been pondering a Bela-centric vid set to a very specific song, namely, "Stairway to Heaven".

No, not the Led Zep original.

It's a cover by an act called BEATNIX, and when I first heard it, it occurred to me how much Dean Winchester would hate this version, and of course, there are few, if any, humans that he hates as much as he's hated Bela.

So I put the two together. And now here's the vid, which is spoilery for all of Season Three of Supernatural, including Episode 3.15 ("Time Is On My Side"). I hope you'll like it if you like Bela as a character, or if you like Lauren as an actress, or, in fact, if you hate both of them. I can't explain - just watch. :D

So yes-the day that I had hoped would never happen has come, and ABC actually bought the pilot for US Life On Mars.  Just remember, it's still a long time time until January 2009, and a great many things can be changed between then and now.  This is including station lineups, and if not-US TV is very good at killing shows very, very quickly (just ask any Firefly fan-or even better, the five people who saw Wonderfalls before it was canceled).  Anyway, to keep people's minds off that feeling of impending doom, I propose a meme:

Think of another place that would be a better setting for the US version of Life On Mars (or alternately, think up a way to make the LA setting work).  Because, lets face it, LA doesn't make much sense, and everyone seems to have an opinion on why X would be so much better.

Doubles are welcome-there's far more than one reason (or one regional stereotype) for any location.

The city does not have to be in the US.  If you think that Melbourne would be a wonderful stand-in for grey, gloomy Manchester-uh, go for it.  Choose another UK city if you'd like.  Choose Djibouti, Djibouti.  Explain why Life on Mars should be on Mars.  The location of the city/area/cowtown is not important.  What is important is that it would be a good place to set an alternate Life On Mars.

Take this as seriously (or not) as you wish.  Write a thesis or a one liner.  Write a thesis that's just a setup for a silly joke.   Whatever you'd prefer.


So go on, have fun, and keep away from the brain bleach.  It's more fun to kill those brain cells with porn anyway.
